I work in schools and other settings in Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire to deliver practical art workshops tailored to fit with the development of students’ arts skills as well as wider curricular areas of learning including literacy, drama, history, science, and numeracy. The focus for my work is that a positive learning arts experience includes research, enquiry, discovery, sharing, and experimentation. I work towards agreed aims, objectives and intended outcomes that are inclusive to all participants.
Prior to each workshop in a school, I meet with teaching staff to discuss the areas of learning forming the focus of the proposed session. Materials, budget and practicalities (including health and safety and welfare matters), requirements for students with Special Educational Needs are discussed. I design workshops responding to the needs of the teaching staff and the students, provide planning including visual stimuli, source and prepare all additional materials and contribute to the documentation of evaluation of the learning.
Printmaking workshops are a speciality but I can design workshops to link with learning journeys, and extend to sculpture, clay, silk painting and more.
