Bus and Bird Arts is a small Participatory Arts organisation based in Mansfield in the East Midlands set up by Clare Taylor in 2016. Bus and Bird Arts tailor makes creative experiences for schools on their Artsmark Journey. We have designed and delivered bespoke creative learning sessions in the Visual Arts for a broad spectrum of learners from pre-school and school age children right through to PGCE students and professional adults.
Clare Taylor (founder and owner) has twenty years of experience in providing versatile multi-disciplinary activities ranging from one hour specialist workshops and half day projects up to whole school initiatives over a number of weeks. Our approach is designed to support, enhance and extend the National Curriculum. We work in both two and three-dimensions including Ceramics, Textiles, Mosaic, Animation, Puppetry, Sculpture and Mixed Media (including sketchbooks and digital processes). Clare has worked in diverse settings, the most unusual being at Manchester Cystic Fibrosis Centre’s Pearce Ward teaching ceramic sculpture and stop frame animation to patients in their bedrooms.
We offer specialised and focused CPD sessions around the National Curriculum in Art and Design for whole school staff. Clare Taylor has spent 14 years working with primary staff devising and delivering bespoke Art and Design packages, including cross curricular approaches for individual schools. We can support you and your school to build up your staff’s confidence through inspiring and engaging sessions delivered in person or online.
Clare Taylor has a wealth of experience in co-ordinating the work of teams of specialists, non-specialist staff, artists and volunteers. She has worked on Heritage Lottery projects (both as project manager and lead artist), an audience development project funded by Museum Development East Midlands (MDEM) and is currently working on a National Lottery Community Fund project with local partner schools.
