Funnel Wick Limb specialize in telling stories on stages, in books and online. They read them out loud and in new forms offered by the online world and want to inspire and enable digitally-savvy young people to get lost in language, learn how to create their own stories & develop a love for live performance.
Tales from the Forest marks the start of The Chronicles of Atom and Luna, an epic tale which brings to life the magical world of Atom and Luna across a range of live and digital forms. The over-arching story centres around 11 year old twins Atom & Luna, who are left home alone in the care of their magical child minder, Iffly Sney. But when Iffly falls terribly ill, only the twins can save him by seeking out the mysterious Old Mother Redbeard. It is a journey which will change their lives forever.
Each tale is written by BBC 6 Music’s Murray Lachlan Young, with music by Paul Hartnoll (Orbital), creatively directed by Nina Hajiyianni and with illustrations by Bek Palmer.
All six audio tales which make up Chronicle One are being released free of charge (thanks to funding from the National Lottery via Arts Council England) as audio files and on YouTube with captions and BSL and the company has also now released Chronicle Two as an AR experience made with Leicester based MBD.
