At the start of the pandemic the Attenborough Arts Centre began a ground breaking pilot education programme, funded by Paul Hamlyn Foundation, for young people with special educational needs and disabilities called ‘Sensory Atelier’ which is about ‘unlocking the world through art’. The Centre is working with experienced artists and a range of SEND schools over a 4-year programme.
The Centre also has a range of At Home Resource Kits created by their Artist In Residence Sian Watson-Taylor for children with SEND to create exciting environments and activities at home for discovery, play and learning.
Activities are designed for large scale and table top activities catering for ASD, SEMH, MLD, SLD & PMLD with resources and objects you should be able to find in and around your home.
