Fevered Sleep was established in 1996 by artistic directors Sam Butler and David Harradine. The company works in many different artforms – from theatre, dance, film and digital projects, to books, publications, installations and public art.
The company works in in theatres and galleries such as The Young Vic, Sadler’s Wells, Tate Britain, The Whitworth and even Sydney Opera House, but also likes to work where people learn and live, most recently at Clifton Green Primary School in York, St George’s Shopping Centre in Preston and Sneinton Market in Nottingham.
Fevered Sleep say that they are “trying to make the world a more caring, curious, compassionate place, one unlikely art project at a time” and in this most extraordinary of years, they are really keen for people to get involved in two current projects that reflect the state of the world at the moment.
‘This Grief Thing’ is a project open to anyone and is about helping people find ways to consider and talk about grief.
‘We Are Not Finished’ is a project for young voices that foregrounds children as political agents with radical imaginations, fierce opinions and wild hopes, and creates a space in which they can demand a different future. As the world reels from the shock of Coronavirus, hearing children’s voices feels more important than ever.
